Electrical warrant of fitness certifications
Arthur How
When does yours expire?
Well the holiday season is almost upon us and nearly here, and everyone will be getting their caravans, motorhomes and boats checked to make sure everything is operational.
If you plan to use campgrounds in your travels, be aware that they require a current EWOF before you can plug in to power.
It is important to get your caravans, motorhomes and boats checked and certified for electrical safety, to comply with “AS/NZS 3001 Electrical Installations — Transportable structures and vehicles, including their site supplies”. The electrical warrant of fitness certification (EWOF), is issued by a registered electrical inspector, with a current NZ Practising Licence (issued by the Electrical Workers Registration Board).
The EWOF is valid for a period of 4 years from the date of issue.
The electrical assessments cover earthing, polarity, insulation resistance, socket outlet testing, circuit protection evaluation, & water proofing & possible ingress into power supply plugs & sockets/cords etc. Both your vehicle and your power cord are checked.
There is a charge for the EWOF service. Costs vary, depending on the location of you and the inspector and may include travel charges.
Arthur How does EWOF inspections in Foxton, Manawatu.
