End of the road, top of the west coast, north of Karamea, one of New Zealand’s truly isolated places. This little postcard scene looks like a tropical paradise, balmy and serene — at the time the alpine passes were snowed closed throughout the rest of the island, evidence of how really exceptional this idyllic piece of coast is. Highly recommended.
